Understanding the situation

  • What led to this situation?
  • What does your gut tell you about the situation?
  • Where is the urgency coming from?
  • How do you feel about the situation?
  • What’s not yet clear about what’s going on? How could you get clarity?
  • What’s the challenge here? What do you find most challenging?
  • If you could wave a magic wand, what would the situation look like?
  • How do you explain this situation to yourself? To a friend?
  • What concerns you most about the situation?
  • What do you fear about the situation?

Assessing options

  • What’s exciting about this option?
  • What would that outcome look like?
  • What other options have you not explored?
  • What’s another possible way to address this?
  • What is preventing you from taking action?

Determining Outcome

  • What do you want out of this situation?
  • What’s the ideal outcome?
  • What’s the next best possible outcome?
  • What’s at risk if you don’t take action?
